Dylan joined our team in 2015 as an intern, but his outstanding skillset and all-round fantastic personality has seen him rise to Senior Illustrator since then. Meet Dylan Melisko.

What inspired you to start illustrating?

I just kept drawing long after all the other kids moved on to whatever non-drawers do!

Who/what inspires you?

Comedians and improv artists communicate ideas in such a condensed output. I always feel like there is something there for artists to steal.

Last Podcast on the Left and ambient dungeon-synth music!

Favorite desk item?

Whatever container holds my caffeine.

Best way to de-stress?

Painting miniatures or lunch break gym session.

What is your greatest fear?

This question.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

"Dude” and “sick.” I don’t even skate, I think LA just infected me with these words.

When and where were you happiest?

Happiest at the renaissance faire! Or any other costumed event. Alternatively playing table top games as a Game Master.

Who are your heroes in real life?

My mother without a doubt, as well as a handful of close friends that decided to pursue a creative lifestyle too.

Where would you most like to live?

Cabin in the Northern West forests!

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing, what would it be?

I'd come back as a UFO and fly around and freak people out.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Finding my partner, Amber!

Which talent would you most like to have?

To not overthink personal questions like these in an attempt to sound clever.

Where are you from?

California. San Fernando Valley and or a goat ranch outside Bakersfield.

What do you most value in your friends?

Honesty, creativity, and patience.

Who is your favorite Illustrator/Designer?

Cory Loftis, Sterling Hundley, Scott C., Alexandre Diboine, dozens more for so many reasons.
