To most of the world, the MGM “roaring lion” is the ultimate representation of the idea of Hollywood. In fact, in focus groups, it had a remarkable 90%+ recall rating. To help leverage this equity for their theme park partners, MGM Consumer Products engaged us to build an extensive library of MGM-branded assets to drive product development.
Starting with a refresh of the fabled logo, we developed a rich system of iconography that reflects MGM’s history and gives consumers a taste of the insider’s view of movie making. We created imagery under 5 thematic categories: Classic, Director’s Cut, Behind the Scenes, and MGM Kids.
